Approx. Propane usage for new home?

If there is a chimney existing on this house you could buy an airtight wood burner to help with the heating costs.After you learn how to control the air damper you can build a fire and keep your house warm all day with one loading of fire wood.You don't want a wood burner that isn't air tight though.They aren't as efficient and you will lose your savings in buying more wood that you really need.Locust,oak,hickory,cherry,or any hardwoods will work just fine.You would be amazed how much money you can save by heating with wood.Craigslist is a good place to look for a good used air tight wood stove.Hope this helps.Good luck,Rusty
