Why does this world system turn people soulless/evil, and uncaring? They turn into cynical drones!?

It is because of sin. Sin is selfishness. People will do whatever they have to in order to satisfy their lusts even if that is at the expense of others. Our only chance is to have the love of Christ and prepare others for His return. In heaven we will not have the problem of sin and it will all be done away with, and that is where we find our hope and strength to invite others to get ready for heaven.
