Radioactive elemnts can be used to destroy unhealthy cells like cancer cells is the process called?

This is called "SEED RADIATION" They take tiny chips of radio active stuff and inject the "Hot" area to kill the cancer. I don't know the exact type for the injection but the external machines have Cobalt-60 and put out "gamma ray" radiation most of the time.
